Activated carbon filter fabric achieves filtration through the combination of activated carbon and non-woven fabric.

Firstly, the irregular fiber structure of the non-woven fabric is an excellent medium for filtering various particulate impurities.
Secondly, the activated carbon filtration is mainly divided into physical adsorption and chemical adsorption.
- Physical adsorption: The porous structure of activated carbon provides a large surface area, making it easy to absorb impurities. Utilizing intermolecular attraction, a large number of molecules on the pore walls of activated carbon generate strong attraction, drawing impurities into the pores. However, the diameter of the adsorbed impurity molecules must be smaller than the pore size of the activated carbon to ensure that the impurities are absorbed into the pores.
- Chemical adsorption: The surface of activated carbon contains a small amount of chemically bonded functional groups of oxygen and hydrogen, such as carboxyl, hydroxyl, phenol, lactone, quinone, ether, etc. Surface oxides or complexes can chemically react with the adsorbed substances, binding and aggregating the adsorbed substances to the surface of the activated carbon. It is mainly used for odor removal.
